You’d never distract a police or rescue dog in action. They’re doing a very important job and deserve to remain focused. The same applies to Guide Dogs, yet they’re not given the same level of respect. Distracted by people on a daily basis they struggle to do their job correctly, putting themselves and their handler in danger. Distracted dogs are forced to retire early due to the bond of trust between dog and handler being broken. The next time you see a Guide Dog wearing a harness, whether it’s walking or sitting down, please respect it’s uniform and leave it alone.
